Fall CSA Incoming!

Dear Farm Community,

Although we’ve been a short break from CSA, we’ve been cranking out some amazing fruits and veggies at the farm- and we can’t wait to share them with you again next week! The newest round of beans is here, along with more melon, squash, and cucumbers. The figs and okra are keeping us busy with abundant harvests. Salad greens (spicy mix, lettuce mix, arugula) and radishes have returned, and turnips are close on their heels.

The seed houses are also filling up fall and winter favorites. And winter planning has begun in earnest- many of the veggies you’ll be seeing at markets in December or January have to be started and planted in the next couple of weeks.

If you haven’t snagged a spot in the fall CSA yet, there’s still plenty of time! You have until Sunday to sign up for the discounted rate on shares if you pay in full, and, starting today, our weekly payment options are live on the website. Choose from the $25 Farm Share (typically 5-7 items per week), the $35 Farm Share (7-9 items per week), or the Flower Share (one fresh cut bouquet per week). Shop here!

The fall CSA is particularly special to me- you’ll get to ride out the end of summer with us, eating melons, tomatoes, okra, and peppers with us as the warm weather lingers. But, unlike in the summer share, you’ll start seeing more greens, root veggies, and sweet potatoes pretty soon. And by the end of the season, around Thanksgiving, you’ll be up to your ears in carrots, beets, kale, chard, fennel, and other hearty, cozy veggies for your favorite hunker-down-for-wintertime meals.

We still need to raise $335 to be able to provide sliding scale shares to some folks who wouldn’t otherwise be able to be a part of our CSA. Thanks so much to Amber, Graham, Emily, and Janet for contributing already. We have raised enough to provide one full season share, and 6 weeks of another. Raising the additional amount would mean that all three of the folks who’ve requested sliding scale spots would be a part of the CSA until Thanksgiving. Consider donating here!!

See you next week!
