CSA Break: See You Soon!
Dear Farm Community,
We’ve finally made it to the end of the summer CSA season, and into our little late-summer break! We’re going to miss you terribly this week and next as we shift gears and get ready for the fall season to start the first week of September. Don’t worry- we’ll still be at the Wednesday Creature Comforts Brewery market and the Saturday market at Bishop Park, and our produce will be in restaurants around Athens (and Atlanta!) so you can still get your fill of our produce that way.
If you haven’t snagged a spot in the fall CSA yet, there’s still plenty of time! You can sign up now for a discounted share when you pay in full before the season starts. If you’re looking for the weekly payment option, it’ll be live on the website the week before the season starts!
The fall CSA is particularly special to me- you’ll get to ride out the end of summer with us, eating melons, tomatoes, okra, and peppers with us as the warm weather lingers. But, unlike in the summer share, you’ll start seeing more greens, root veggies, and sweet potatoes pretty soon. And by the end of the season, around Thanksgiving, you’ll be up to your ears in carrots, beets, kale, chard, fennel, and other hearty, cozy veggies for your favorite hunker-down-for-wintertime meals.
We still need to raise $635 to be able to provide sliding scale shares to some folks who wouldn’t otherwise be able to be a part of our CSA. Really and truly, any amount helps. If we had 60 people give $10, we’d nearly be there! We, and the folks who have been participating and are hoping to continue, are grateful!
Catch ya later!
