F23 (W6): Fall Mindset

Dear CSA Members + Farm Community,

We’ve reached the halfway point of the fall CSA season! Although the warm, dry weather and cool nights has kept our summer crops happier than usual for this time of year, we’re definitely starting to transition towards more cool weather veggies. The projects of digging sweet potatoes, fixing broken hoop houses to prepare for cold weather, filling sandbags and organizing row cover certainly have us in the fall mindset. Dahlias are about to be in full swing, wreath making supplies are being gathered, and ranunculus tubers are all in trays, putting us in the cool weather flower mindset too.

We’re so grateful that y’all are a part of the CSA community— we’ve grown to almost 80 shares weekly, which provides so much stability and consistency for the farm. Stay tuned for some fun CSA member events coming up later this fall. If you haven’t signed up yet and you’re curious, there’s still 6 more weeks of veggies and flowers left this season! Check out the options on our website!

With the cool temps this week, I’m finally in the mood to turn the oven back on again. Try out daikon radish “fries”, maple roasted carrots, twice baked sweet potatoes, or roasted napa cabbage.

Happy eating!
