SP23 (W7): Making CSA Accessible for our Community

Dear CSA Members + Farm Community,

We’re over halfway through the Spring CSA Season, which means we’re starting to think about summertime- you can purchase your next 12 weeks of fruit, veggie, and flower goodness on our website now!

If you’re already doing a weekly subscription, you’re good to go- you don’t have to re-do the sign up. If you paid up front for only the Spring Season share, then you’ll need to sign up for the next season! Right now, we’re offering a 5% discount if you pay in full before the season starts, so don’t miss out.

We’re also excited to announce that we’ll be making an effort to make the CSA more accessible by offering some pay-what-you-can spots for the next season! To do this, we’ll be calling on our community (y’all!): as you probably know, farm budgets are tight, and the prices for our produce are carefully planned to cover costs like seeds, compost, infrastructure, and paying employees. To offer reduced price shares, we’ll be relying on folks with the means to donate a little extra when purchasing their share to offset the cost for those who wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise.

If you’re interested in getting on the list for a pay-what-you-can share, please fill out this form. If you’re interested in making farm-fresh food available to more of your community, consider donating to the Share the Harvest fund here!

For snackin’ this week, try out these super quick and simple recipes for Chinese Broccoli. As for your fennel, try it raw (delicious, crunchy, mildly licorice-y) in this Martha Stewart approved salad with radishes and parm, or in this pasta dish with kale, garlic, and red pepper flakes.

Happy eating!
