SP23 (W11): Who’s Ready for Summahtime??
Dear CSA Members + Farm Community,
With our first week of consistently warm temps behind us, your Diamond Hill Farmers are feeling ready for summertime! The cherry tomato plants are heavy with unripe fruit, the second round of cucumbers has thumbnail-sized fruit on it, and the first of the summer flowers are looking ready to pop.
Can you believe that this is the second to last week of the spring CSA season?! If you’re paying weekly for a share, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the summer season unless you decide to stop. If you paid up front for your spring share, be sure to enroll for the next 12 weeks here! If you’ve paid for all three seasons, you’re good to go. You won’t wanna miss the summer CSA session- it’ll be tomato season before you know it!
Thanks to y’all’s generosity, we were able to help some community members out with reduced- price shares. We have the funds to cover more, so if you or someone you know might want a share, but be unable to sign up due to the cost , fill out this form. If you want to share the harvest with your community, consider donating here.
CSA members, don’t forget about the farm tour the first weekend of June! You’ll get to see the farm in its prime, and get a glimpse into what happens between CSA pickups or markets!
This week, you’ll see little gems lettuce in your share. This tender but hearty lettuce is perfect paired with any summer veggie, and can stand up to thick and creamy dressing, or shine with a light vinaigrette. Try out this lemon-y salad with summer squash, or this one, with vegan ranch dressing. For a main dish, try this roasted cauliflower pasta. Toss in some chicken or sausage for added protein, capers for a lil salty punch, or add in some fresh herbs before serving.
Happy eating!
