SP23 (W10): Happy Mama’s Day!
Dear CSA Members + Farm Community,
Happy week of Mother’s Day to all the mommas, mommies, mother figures, mom friends, and all others who deserve to be celebrated this weekend! What better way to show your appreciation than some flowers and strawberries, or a nice veggie-heavy home cooked meal?! Even better, grab a flower share for your mom- make sure she’s got fresh flowers every week! We’ll be at both markets and stocked up at CSA pickup, so be sure to grab a lil something extra for your loved ones.
CSA members (present and future), mark your calendars- we’ll be doing a farm tour for CSA members the first weekend of June! See the farm in its prime, and learn a little more about where your food is coming from. More details to come!
If you’re paying weekly for a share, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the summer season unless you decide to stop. If you paid up front for your share, be sure to enroll for the next 12 weeks here! You won’t wanna miss it- it’ll be tomato season before you know it!
We’re excited to let y’all know that, thanks to one very generous donor, we have enough funds to cover two reduced-price shares for the summer season! We’d love to keep this going- if you want to get on the list for a discounted share, fill out this form. If you want to share the harvest with your community, consider donating here.
This week, you’ll be seeing the first of the kohlrabi. This delightfully strange looking vegetable is in the brassica family- same as broccoli, cabbage, kale, and other familiar favorites. Try it roasted with some parm or in a light and simple slaw. And with those gorgeous beets you’ll be seeing this week, don’t throw away the greens! Whip up a beet green pesto for a quick and easy pasta dish.
Happy eating!
