SP23(W1): Back in the swing of things
Dear CSA Members and Community,
Woohoo, the announcement you’ve all been waiting for is finally here: this is the first week of Spring CSA farm boxes! We’re so excited to see you all this week. Here are some quick guidelines to make sure that your first pickup goes smoothly:
Tuesday Pickups:
Athens Montessori: Put Sunvalley Rd. into your GPS. You’ll turn off Barnett Shoals onto Sunvalley Rd. and take an immediate right onto the gravel drive. You can pull off and park along the side of the drive, or if it’s too crowded, you can follow the driveway down to the school’s parking lot. We’ll be set up at the top of the gravel drive!
Thursday Pickup:
Athentic Brewing: Located just off Prince Ave near Piedmont Hospital, you can easily walk, bike, or drive over. We’ll be set up in the parking lot!
Other info:
Please show up between 4 and 6pm on your designated day at your designated location. If you don’t remember what you signed up for, check out your receipt from the purchase of your share. We’re planning our harvest and packing numbers around the sign ups, and we don’t want you to miss out! If you can’t remember where you’re supposed to be, check the confirmation email you received after you purchased your share.
Shares will be laid out market style, and you’ll fill a bag for yourself according to the labels on the table. Bags will not be pre-packed. Don’t worry, there’s enough for everyone and we’ll be there to help!
Bring your own bag! We’re trying to cut down on waste, and this is a super helpful way to do that.
We’ll have additional produce and flowers available for purchase at your pick as we have them available.
What’s going on at the farm:
Besides getting ready for CSA season to start, Diamond Hill farm has been abuzz with prep for spring. This means preparing beds for planting, starting LOTS of seeds in the greenhouse, moving silage tarps around, and bunching tons of flowers. In fact, we’ve had to get crafty in the walk-in coolers Tetris-style to fit everything in. With the spring markets starting in Athens this week, we’re so excited to see y’all and get back into a groove!
